To understand the effect of electromagnetic radiation on human body, we should have a scientific and objective understanding of electromagnetic radiation firstly. Electromagnetic radiation is energy that is propagated through free space or through a material medium in the form of electromagnetic waves, such as radio waves, visible light, and gamma rays. The term also refers to the emission and transmission of such radiant energy.

To be clear, electromagnetic radiation is not equal to electromagnetic pollution.
Only when the electromagnetic radiation exceeds the specified energy limit, the pollution of electromagnetic radiation will happen which is threaten to human's health, such as the plant nerve dysfunction, blood disorders and even eye diseases, etc. There is no harm to human’s health if the amount of radiation received by human body in a short time is less than 200mW. On the contrary, it will cause harm to human’s health if it is more than 200mW.The hazard of transformer radiation to human’s health is determined by the frequency and intensity of transformers.
The radiation generated by common high-voltage power supply equipment in China is mainly about 50Hz (low frequency), the influence range of electromagnetic radiation is about 10-15 meters based on the the radiation as mentioned above. The intensity of electromagnetic radiation out of the influence range is almost as same as the adiation from a cell phone.
The transformers in the high-voltage power supply equipment also have this level of radiation. However, other small transformers have even less radiation. So there is no need to worry about the health effects from the radiation caused by transformers.
