At least one fall test must be carried out each time when the material lift building hoist is installed or removed, including the lift used for the first time, the lift reinstalled after the transfer and the lift overhauled. When the hoist elevator is in normal operation, fall experiment shall be carried out regularly every six months. The speed limiter must be sent for inspection two years (according to the date stamp on the speed limiter label or the test report), and it can only be used after it passes the inspection. The service life of the speed limiter is five years.
Methods of the fall experiment:
1. Load rated weight of building hoist
2. Cut off the main power supply, connect the drop test button box to the wiring terminal in the electric control box, and lock it tightly.
3. Place the button box of the fall experiment on the ground through the door. Make sure the cable does not get stuck during the fall experiment and close all doors. NOTE: no one is allowed on the cage during the fall experiment
4. Close the main power switch
5. Press the "up" button on the fall experiment button box to raise the hanging cage to about 10M from the ground.
6. Press the "fall" button and the cage will fall freely. Under normal circumstances, the braking distance of the cage is within the specified range in the following table

NOTE: if the cage is still about 3M from the ground and does not stop, it shall immediately release the brake of the cage when releasing the button, and then inching the "fall" button to make the cage fall slowly to the ground and find out the reason.
7. Press the "up" button to raise the hanging cage by about 0.2m
8. Click the "fall" button to make the hanging cage fall slowly to the ground.
NOTE: each inching is the sliding distance of the cage shall not exceed 0.2m, otherwise the speed limiter will act again. After the drop test, remove the plug from the button box.
