Introduction to The International Forum on the Cultural Mission of the Development and Construction of the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Opens in Macau:
On August 12th, the International Forum on the Cultural Mission of the Development and Construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau-Dawan District, hosted by the Macao SAR Government, opened at the Grand Hyatt Macau.
The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mrs. Carrie Lam, said that this international forum would allow the elites of culture, art and academia in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao to work together. Lin Zhengyue said that the youth exchanges between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao are an important project in the cooperation plan of the three places. They can let the three youths understand each other, and they can also personally understand the achievements of the country's reform and opening up and enhance their recognition of a long-standing culture.

The forum will focus on the theme of “Cultural Mission of Development and Construction of Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao and Dawan District”, covering history, philosophy, religion, politics, law, language, literature and art. After the opening ceremony and keynote speech, the forum will also set up three sub-forums, namely sub-forum one: history, literature, philosophy - human destiny and cultural charm; sub-forum two: politics, law - cultural tradition and social progress And sub-forum three: society, science and technology - the culture of the development of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Dawan District. Participants will conduct in-depth discussions on the above topics.
Mrs. Lam said that the Hong Kong SAR Government will set aside $140 million in the next five years to support Hong Kong artists and groups to perform at different venues in the Greater Bay Area to let local people understand Hong Kong's culture. To date, 400 Hong Kong youths have been funded to participate in the event. This year, 71 non-government organizations have been funded. About 4,700 Hong Kong youths have come to different cities in the Mainland to conduct youth exchange activities.
Xie Fuzhan, president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said that the construction of the Dawan District has given Macao a new cultural mission. Macao should play better and serve as a bridge for China to exchange with the world. In order to promote the common development of China and the world, it will inject more humanistic motivation.
