During the use of steel wire rope, regular inspection must be carried out, and the inspection results should be carefully recorded. By monitoring the wire rope at any time, it provides the basis for safe and reasonable use of wire rope. Process inspection includes external inspection and internal inspection.
1. External inspection of wire rope
(1). Diameter inspection
Through diameter measurement, it can reflect the change speed of the diameter, whether the wire rope has been subjected to a large impact load, whether the tension of the strand is uniform during twisting, and whether the core has maintained sufficient support capacity for the strand.
(2). Wear inspection of wire rope
Through the wire rope wear inspection, it can reflect the contact condition between the wire rope and the matching wheel groove. If the performance test cannot be carried out at any time, the actual bearing capacity of the wire rope can be estimated according to the wear degree of the wire rope.
(3). Broken inspection
Through the inspection of broken wire, especially the situation of broken wire within one twist, it can not only predict the carrying capacity of the wire rope, but also indirectly predict the service life of the wire rope according to the development speed of the number of broken wires.
(4). Lubrication inspection
Lubrication can not only to have corrosion protection during transportation and storage, and can reduce the wire rope in use process between steel wire and strands of rope and friction between wire rope and matching wheel groove, beneficial to extend the life of the wire rope, therefore, to reduce the corrosion, the harm of wire rope friction to a minimum, the examination of the lubrication is necessary.
2. Internal inspection of wire rope
Check method: the appropriate size of the two clamps 100 ~ 200mm apart clamps on the wire rope rotation in the opposite direction, the strand will be off. Be careful to avoid permanent deformation due to excessive displacement of the strand (resulting in structural damage). What to check: when a small gap appears, use a probe such as a screw to pull the strand and remove any grease or other foreign matter that may interfere with the line of sight. After the inspection, turn back the clamp with a bit of force to make the strand fully return to its original position. If the above procedure is performed correctly, the wire rope will not be deformed.
3. Other inspection of wire rope
Check the surface wear condition of matching wheel groove, geometric dimension of wheel groove and rotation flexibility, so as to ensure that the wire rope is always in good contact state with it and has the least friction resistance in operation.
