Reactive power compensation capacitor cabinet
As a complete set of equipment, the reactive power compensation cabinet is composed of a cabinet body and cabinet components. It mainly contains the following components:
1) Main switch
2) Overvoltage protection components
3) Protection components
4) capacitor bank switch
5) harmonic filter reactor
6) Capacitor
7) Power Factor Controller
Main switch
As an independent device, each reactive power compensation cabinet has a main switch that connects the compensation device to the bus. At the same time, it protects against short-circuit faults in this cabinet.
The main switch is usually a fuse switch or a circuit breaker.
Overvoltage protection components
Reduce the impact of overvoltage on the equipment in the cabinet and prevent damage to the components in the cabinet by overvoltage.
Each reactive power compensation cabinet is composed of several reactive power compensation branches. The branch here includes: protection components, capacitor bank switch, harmonics filter reactors and power capacitors.
Protection element
It protects components and faults on the compensation branch.
The protection element on the branch is usually realized by a fuse, and the parameters need to be matched with the capacitor on the branch.
Switch
The function of the switching switch is to connect the capacitors and reactors on the compensation branch to the components of the system or exit the system.
PS: When the capacitor is switched on, there is an inrush current. This is the basic characteristic of the capacitor input. Therefore, the switching switch has another function, which is to reduce the capacitor inrush current.
Commonly used capacitor switching are:

Capacitor bank contactor
Thyristor switch

Composite switch
.
Harominc filter reactor

Power Capacitor

Power Factor controller
