1、 Difference between isolation transformer and control transformer:

(1) The definition of isolation transformer is different from that of control transformer

Isolation transformer refers to the transformer with electrical isolation between the input winding and the output winding. Isolation transformer is used to avoid accidentally touching the charged body at the same time. Isolation refers to isolating the current of the original and secondary coils. For example, in the maintenance of some color TV sets and air conditioners, 1:1 isolation transformer is often used as the safe isolation power supply.

As the name implies, the control transformer is mainly used for "control", mainly to transform the primary voltage to the voltage suitable for the electrical control circuit. For example, in the lathe control circuit, in order to ensure the safety of the operator, the lathe control circuit is generally reduced to 36V safe voltage, where a 380V to 36V control transformer is needed here.


(2) The purpose of isolation transformer is different from that of control transformer

In the early stage, isolation transformer was used in the power industry in European countries, widely used in the control power supply, safety lighting and indicator power supply of general circuits in electronic industry or industrial and mining enterprises, machine tools and mechanical equipment.


(3) The functions of isolation transformer and control transformer are different

The control transformer provides power for the control system in the operation of electrical equipment;

In fact, it is a filter with poor performance.Generally, the output voltage of control transformer is 6.3V, 12V, 24V, 36V, 50V, 110V, 127V, etc. To reduce cost, some control transformers only output a single low voltage, or three to five voltages. The transformer ratio of isolation transformer is 1:1. The function of isolation transformer is different from that of control transformer, so it is not universal.

  

2、 Connection between isolation transformer and control transformer:

Isolation transformers can also be defined as control transformers.

For example: In an imported driving electrical circuit, all relay contactors and other electrical equipment are 220 volts, and the power input is 3-phase 4-wire.It could have used the zero line to form the control loop. However, this driving has a control handle, and the electrical designer uses an isolation transformer, and the secondary is used as the power supply of the electrical control loop.
