1. Peeling

When the palm is not ripe, it is very difficult to take out its crust. However, when it is ripe and falls into the ground, ants will eat its crust, leaving the clean nuts for collection. When the nuts are dry enough, their skin are crashed open by mallets and peeled off by knives.

2. Slicing

Each nut can normally be cut into three slices by circular-saws. The center slice is hollow which cannot be used for making button, but can be used as fuel for making bricks.

3. Selecting slices

These slices are grouped by sizes, kind and quality so as to optimize the production. Appropriate size of the slice is to make a specific disk for buttons.

4. Drilling out button disk

Only one disk can be obtained from each slice by using a special drill, dust will come out in the process of drilling the disk. These dust can be used as food for cows and chickens.

5. Corozo button disk selection

This is the most important step to select perfect disk. The rejected disk can be drilled into smaller-sized disk.

6. Making finish Corozo button

Button factory imports the perfected button disk, turns it into special shape, drills 2 holes or 4 holes on it by the automatic button machines, and polishes it shinny if desired.
