A mechanical seal is a spare parts that helps join systems or mechanisms together by preventing leakage (e.g. in a pump), containing pressure, or excluding contamination. The effectiveness of a seal is dependent on adhesion in the case of sealants and compression in the case of gaskets, normally a mechanical seal include rotating part and stationary seal part, with secondary seal part like o-ring, the material for secondary seal normally made by rubber, like NBR, BUNA, EPDM or VITON(FKM).
